this is extremely late

but i was really missing kibum lately (remember when he used to be all the rage, when he used to be called suju’s MVP? me neither). his brithday is coming up in august, but

its really short, but its worth watching because look who POPS up next to him? Kim Kibum Jr, popularly known as SHINee’s Almighty Key

now here is a pairing i never thought id see; not that its totally implausible, since theyre from the same ent company and all; but by the time SHINee got big, Kibum was already practically MIA from suju and they dont seem to be close at all, barely have anything in common besides their NAME

all we need to complete the troika is U-Kiss Kim kibum (who happens to be my beloved cutie Hyungjoon’s baby (but more mature)  brother)

but i always kinda thought it would be neat, and all, what with Key being my only bias in SHINee and Kibum being my first love in SUJU and the other half of KIMIN!!!!

speaking about kimin, a poll came out in May, the hottest men in Asia. Kibum came in at number 29 (not bad considering hes been MIA, although he did come in behind more than half of suju including Eeteuk?! and Ryeowook! and Eunhyuk who used to be so jealous of him back in the day, but came in ahead of donghae……….??) and Changmin came in at number 30! Kibum beat Changmin LOLLLLLLLLLLLL. he must have been so proud. and to round out, number 32 was Jang Woohyuk — my bias from H.O.T! (cant believe theyre still appearing in polls)

guess who just got casted as Kotoko? JUNG SOMIN! jung so min of all people! why……????? shes a new face, most people dont know who she is, but ive been watching 나쁜 남자 (bad guy) which i started watching because it had both Han Gain (Changmin’s unrequited lady love) and Kim Jaewook, which means EYE CANDY!!!!! plus the lead role, Kim Nam Gil is a pretty interesting watch. but then there is this girl, a supporting role played by Jung Somin, and while some people applaud her for her refreshingly fresh face and passably good acting performance considering her lack of experience, and in some aspects i agree that she can be passably amusing at times, nevertheless i ineplicably find myself cringing when she comes on the screen. and i dont think its entirely due to the fact that the writers made her character insufferable. (i mean if they HAD to choose an actress from 나쁜 남자 they could have chosen Han Ga in! JOKES JOKES JOKES of course its all JOKES, but i still hold on to my dream that Changmin will be able to act alongside her someday; but speaking of 나쁜 남자, now that i think of it, even Shim Eunkyung would be better fit for the role, seeing as how shes a little a boyish and endearingly awkward but very genuine and sweet; in fact Shim Eunkyung would make a ten times better Kotoko than Jung Somin, who is way too petulant and princess-ish)

if changmin had indeed been casted and jung somin opposite him, i woudl be crying tears of frustrtation right now, so thankfully, i dont have to worry about it. lalalalalalala

Lee Minho was smart when he turned down the role and avoided having to act alongside jung somin (or perhaps it was because he turned downthe role that the pds had to settle for someone like her?)

not that i hate her or anything —i  just dont see her in this role! its not fit for her (but then again, hyunjoong wasnt really fit for it either….)

in short: i REFUSE to watch this drama when it airs

i thank you, Lord, for letting Changmin be casted alongside Lee Yeonhee (who i find incredibly  and genuinely and unexpectedly likeable) and Yoo Hana (who, what little i know of her, i find pleasing)

anyway, the main reason for the post:

i was sooper giddy excited to see a very changmin-esque taemin in the teaser pictors, but also crossing my fingers that i would be disappointed when the album actually came out—similarly to how excited i was to see taemin rocking the cornrows the first time but then ringdingdong didnt really live up to the hype.

but for now im keeping my hopes up, because in the latest teaser video-!!!

which im not gonna post because im not a shinee stan, but i did take a few caps of taemin looking incredibly like changmin (style-wise, not looks)! its a bit different feel from the previous one, but nevertheless, its remarkably changminesque:::::::::::::

the first thing i thought of when i saw this was:

yes we all remember this fabulously fashionable changmin.

apparently,  the new SHINee album is called “Lucifer” and i think at this point, we are all supposed to go like , ohhhh…so thats what the concept was supposed to be. but no, i think i still dont get it. WHY why why are your album titles like this always, SHINee???? i can see what they were going for, seeing as how they love to make all sorts of puns on anything to do with light, and shine, and SHINee, and lucifer literally was the cherub of light– but still, i dont get it.

in some of the shots, thought, Key did look horrifyingly and oddly lucifer-ish;

because, of course, we cant have a shinee post without mentioning KEY. the nice thing about a mohawk, is that if he just combsover his hair, he could almost look like a normal head of hair. almost.

minho used to be my bias in SHINee (i mean, second to KEY of course), because of the whole ChangMinho thing, and how he was supposed to be like changmin, being tall and stoic and all; but i think lately, if taemin keeps going down the track hes going now, he will definitely win me over!!!!

ive had that suspicion lurking, ever since debut days, since they were both so gosh darn babysh and cute back then, but it was the RINGDINGDONG promos that really strengthened it, because OBVIOUSLY you cant see cornrows without immediately thinking this person is trying to cosplay CHANGMIN

he doesnt pull it off quite the same way as changmin so wonderlicously did back in the day, but first THAT and now THIS:

im so proud of this little boy, he certainly has come a long way from his bowlheaded freakishly baby days to THIS——–looking like Changmin, the only korean who is 2000% man. i swear, once may have been a coincidence, but two teaser pics for two albums in a row, is undeniable. either taemin is gradually morphing into his 멋있는 hyung or they both have the same stylist. i sincerely hope its the former, because that will guarantee us several more years full of POWHAOORRRR OSMNESS and maybe hopefully something like this in the near future:

more than anything, above all the discomfiture surrounding the SHINee comeback, i think he looks GREAT

he definitely looks more manly, which is always a good thing when it comes to Key

i have mixed feelings about his eyebrows; while i think they are interesting in a good way, and i wouldnt have expected anything less of key; i personally always thought his natural eyebrows were the best thing after sliced bread

im also approve of them deciding to stick to minimalist eye makeup because key’s natural eyes (after his eyebrows) are the best thing after sliced bread

nevertheless

while i DO think that overall he looks great — even the hair, which i think he managed to pull off with incredible panache, and adds to his character; i wonder if this is would count as a legit mohawk. i fondly remember once in high school, i became infatuated with this guy after he got a mohawk….kekeke, gooodoledays

i still do shed a few tears, at the thought that he shaved off his hair, his luscious chocolate hair of smex, that most people would KILL to have, and that he voluntarily rid himself of such a treasure, really is just, a little heartwrenching

because Key’s hair is the best thing ever to have come, notwithstanding sliced bread

all in all, after staring at his pic long enough ,i think i can declare that yes, i am in love with this boy, AGAIN. i swear, everytime my interest in him threatens to wane and become forgettable, he goes and does something like this, and im right back on the bandwagon. ugh, i wanna marry this kid man, honestly

as for the other  SHINee members, i dont have much to say; i did raise a skeptical eyebrow at minho and jonghyun’s concepts; onew’s made me crack a smile, since its so reminiscent of old school nineties kpop, and i am such a sucker for old school. and since EVERYTHING will remind me of changmin, my first thought onseeing minho’s shorn head, was that it reminded me of how changmin decided to shear his head for Wrong Number MV. although changmin looks vastly more handsome than i expect minho will. sorry minho, i am BIASED. and i preferred minho with his loooong hair, just like i preferred changmin with his looong hair.

but the one i did think was necessary to share was TAEMIN’s

hes growing on me more and more lately (even though i used to not think much of him back in debut days); probably because for some inexplicable reason he reminds me of changmin (!??????) (even tho he actualy looks more like heechul in tis pic especialy) i really do think hes getting betterlooking as he goes along; and the long hair–he owns that look! im so excited, given my fetish for guys with long hair; im really expectant of him becoming changmin 2.0 in a couple of years; although it doesnt seem likely to happen, seeing as he is missing the major component:SNARK

(which taemin does have loads of, btw, snark, that is; except that he doesnt show it enough)

immediately after yesterday when i posted about how changmin was sooooo perfect for the role of Irie Naoki,

the latest changmin issue of ELLEgirl came out, and gotta take a look at these pics

as soon as i saw this pictor, my first thought was —— this is NAOKI!

his clothes are really cute,  i think, looks kinda like a school uniform

first of all, lets just say how absolutely undeniably GORGEOUS he is. i htink im quite satisfied with how this photoshoot turned out—-he really is unbelievably modelesque, but im glad for Ellegirl mag for doing him justice. i love his clothes – they give a very modern(yet classic) feel; and somehow so very <cute>. this boy was made for high fashion!

but second, i couldnt help thinking that in this picture, ive never seen him look so much like Kashiwabara before——–its a sign-he was made for Naoki! i wish Group Eight pds will see this and think exactly what im thinking

but no matter; the point of this post was to share around the happiness brought by a CM photoshoot, so mission accomplished

nevertheless, one good thing that comes from changmin not being casted as Naoki, is that if so, he would have to go head-on-head with his competitor drama, Sungkyunkwan scandal, whose lead actor is YOOCHUN —- no battle between my two favorite dongbang boys.. fortunately, that will be avoided, since (unless im mistaken), happily, Paradise mokjang and sungkyunkwan scandal are both aired by the same broadcasting company, so no competition

of all people got casted as the lead for playful kiss (krn version of it started with a kiss/itazura kiss)???

i know im not alone because a lot of drama buffs are also quite a bit upset; so my feelings are justified

not that i have anything against hyunjoong, per se, seeing as how much i adore all things SS501, (especially doubleHJ)

but this is just a disappointment.

especially considering that they were also seriously considering CHANGMIN for the role

and while i am aware that this role would not really be the most promising opportunity for him to broaden his acting career, it may even serve to typecast him (from what little we know of paradise mokjang)

however

DUDE this boy was BORN for the role!!!!

i bet when God created him in heaven, he looked at the finished product and said, “this boy is created to be Irie Naoki”

i didnt watch the famed taiwanese version or the anime, but i did avidly watch the old nineties japanese one with Kashiwabara takashi (who, btw, is GORGEOUS beyond words)

and my first thought on hearing that changmin was up for the role was that: Changmin IS naoki! in real life!

first of all, theyre both gorgeous beyond words

and a lot of other similarities, the tensai-ness, the stoic aloofness, the snark, the scared-of-girls, and just , hell, EVERYTHING!

i would really have gotten a kick out of seeing changmin in that role…keke

it tickled me, this one scene in Itazura na kiss, where kotoko says “unbeliebable!” and naoki, in his usual brusque naoki way, corrects her “its supposed to be unbelieVable!” which reminded me of an bigeastation ep where junsu pronounces the title of their song “surbaybor” and changmin is like, … “survivor”

although im too fed up with this kpop bullshit to be angry about it or anything, if this happens, i am DONE!

the only kpop boybands i have ever stanned in my life are DBSK first and foremost (their breakup was  by far the hardest for me to take), SS501, H.O.T (who disbanded by the time i started stanning), and once upon a time, F.T Island (which i stopped stanning after Wonbin, my fave, left)—-this always happens to my favorites; not to mention V.O.S, (who i love like no other but doesnt count asa boyband) and their whole icky ordeal with their ent company not renewing their contract (for the horriblest of reasons!!!!!)

anyway…we’ll see what happens. after dbsk disbanded, i stopped following the other four members altogether; and i hate to think what may happen to my ss501 fandom if they break up, although my favoritism of HJ baby proportionately to the other members is not as steeped as that of changmin. in fact, although HJbaby is my favorite, im extremely Jungmin biased.
